BIG SOFTIES

This collaboration grew from our collective yearning for a future that might soften against life’s sharp edges, one that would curve where it may have otherwise splintered. In this future, we find comfort in spherical shapes and vibrant colors, embracing new ways of eating, creating, and gathering. We exalt levity, shrink-wrapping our laughter and joy so that we may return to it always.

When we started this project a few years ago, we had no idea just how much we’d need to hold on to the hope for this future—or, to create it for ourselves. BIG SOFTIES now serves as a reminder from our past to our present and future selves. Softening is an act of resistance just as much as it is one of self preservation!
